Games to play with my horse ?
Well i love playing with my horse in the field and would like some other games to do
and would anyone reccomend getting a horse ball ?
and do horse react well to them or get bored really easily ?
and does anyone reccomend any bordom breakers (please reccomend sites) (im in the UK o no dollar paying websites please.
There is a stud at my barn that only gets let out of his stall for about 10-15 minutes a day (horrible I know, but it’s a boarding facility and it’s not my horse–my horse is on rough board and LOVES it) and in his stall they have an apple shaped plastic toy that you can hang from anything and he plays with it all day long!
When he IS let out into either the indoor or the outdoor, he plays with a giant rubber/plastic horse ball and he will entertain himself the whole time. He picks it up and tosses it in the air, he grabs it and swings it back and forth (even though he hits himself), and he will kick it. It is quite amusing for both him and the the onlookers haha!
I also spend a lot of time on the ground with my horses and just walk around with them, talk to them, run with them, whatever and every horse I have owned will literally follow me anywhere. My last saddlebred would even park out for halter without me laying a hand on him. I think it’s amazing how you can gain your horse’s trust and respect by just being in their presence and not necessarily working with them.
Have fun with your horse and I’m sure before long you two will have made up a ton of your own games that you find entertaining
