What and where are some horse rescues in Colorado?

I am looking for some horse rescue organizations in Colorado. I have a 4 year old paint mare that I am breaking and she is super lonely. I want to get a companion for her, but also a horse that needs a home and that I can train as well to ride. I am not sure what to look for so if you know any websites that would be great! And please only in Colorado surrounding Denver if possible! Thanks!

There are several equine rescues in the Denver area. Your best bet is to google horse rescues in Colorado. The Colorado Horse Rescue is in Longmont (www.chr.org). There is also a TB rescue in Wellington. In Castle Rock, there was a place called Epona, but I think they are no longer running. Craigslist is also a great place to look. The horse market is VERY slow right now and there are tons of people looking to sell and even give away horses. Also, check with a local feed store (or two) and see if they have an add board. There are several horses for adoption advertised at the feed store I work at in Castle Rock as well as several for sale. Good luck!
