How do I track down a horse?

I used to ride this beautiful white and black standard bred horse at the stables near where I live, and I always considered her to be my horse because she really only seemed to listen to me. But I went on vacation for the summer and when I got back the stable owners already sold her. The owners refuse to tell me who bought her (legal obligations?), and I don’t think she has a micro chip. Is there any way I can track her down? My dad said we could buy her if we found her. Please?

Check horse clubs in your area. Post on craigslist. You can even advertise in the paper.
