horse urine color

Why does my horse’s pee have a rust color to it?

I feed Nutrena Senior feed. The urine is about the same color of it, so is it from that? He does not have a UTI and the vet is stumped. My gelding does not act sick at all. I noticed it in the snow this winter.

Did the vet run liver functions?

Increased bilirubin will always give that tinge.

Did he strip test the urine for blood?

EDIT-I just saw the snow comment.

That is normal, they always have that appearance in snow. No worries.
